     Remember an absolute AGE ago when I said I was going to write a certain post, but it turned out being way too long and I was going to make it a video? And then I forgot about it for over a month? Well guess who finally got her shit together enough to film it? Me! Yaaaay! Without further ado, I present to you: What's in my Bag? AKA look through my stuff and judge me for how weird I am!

Friday is beach-day!

     Today is the day we're heading for the beach! I'm planning to keep you updated with new posts as usual for the week I'll be gone, but they'll be about what I'm getting up to instead of how-to posts or the like. I had planned to write a post for today, but the chaos of packing overwhelmed me and I simply didn't have time to get anything else done! Then I wrote a post about something else, but it ended up being so long (seriously, it was six pages when I was done with it) that I realized it really needs to be done as a video so you don't break your eyeballs trying to read through it all. But I couldn't film it right away because it was already almost 1:00 AM when I had this revelation! Oh, woe is me. Would that I were a better planner-aheader. I'll definitely be filming that video soon, so you have that to look forward to (why settle for reading my awkward ramblings in print when you could hear them straight from the ramblers mouth?). In the meantime though, you know I don't like to leave you without something fun or interesting to brighten your day, so here is a video of Bessie standing up and pretending to be a people for a treat. She is...food-motivated, to say the least.

Houndstooth Pencil Skirt: Finished!

Ding dong, the skirt is done! Which old skirt? The houndstooth skirt! 

I don't know why I thought that would be an appropriate intro, since this skirt wasn't particularly wicked. It was actually pretty easy. 

Don't you love how awkward my thumbnails always are? 

 

Chocolate Cheesecake Cake....cake.

I love any excuse to make a cake! Today's deliciousness is a chocolate cake with a cheesecake layer in the middle and cream cheese frosting. Yummmm. I found the recipe here. And the cooking process was documented....on video! Whaaat welcome to the 90s you guys! I mean. Um.

The Universe thinks it's soooo funny.

I'd love to know why my apartment building made it through all of Hurricurn Irene (proper pronunciation. You're all saying it wrong) without losing power, but this random thunderstorm today was enough to knock it out. But not for long. Oh, no. You see, the power only went out JUST as I had gotten nekkid and was about to hop in my bubblebath. And it only stayed out JUST long enough for me to panic and scramble around in the dark looking for clothes and a flashlight. The second I was dressed and armed to face the darkness monsters- power's back! Hilarious, nature. Hysterical.

Anyway, there was some lovely flooding going on that I thought I'd share with you all. I don't know who those girls are playing in the water, but they seem nice, if now contaminated by all sorts of Richmond grime seeping into their foot-pores. 

So anyway, that's today for ya. I haven't been posting here a lot because my professors each think their class is the only one I take that matters, so they assign a metric butt-ton of reading each class period. So, most of my time is spent applying my efforts to doing anything but that.

There's also my African Sleeping Sickness to contend with. I don't really have that, obviously, having never been to Africa/known anyone from Africa/been able to find Africa on a map (Just kidding, it's the one shaped like a chicken wing...or maybe a steak. I think I forgot to eat dinner). But when I googled my symptoms--excessive fatigue and prolonged headache-- the internet told me that's what I have. I know, I was just as surprised as you, because I was pretty sure it was going to tell me "You're lazy and your contact prescription isn't right."
